About Me
Hi, I'm Dan, the founder of RemoteCBTherapy. I've worked in mental health, neurodiversity and disability settings since 2009. I have gained experience supporting individuals with their mental health as part of the police's witness care services, working in charitable mental health, homeless and housing organisations, as well as NHS talking therapies.
My own experiences with mental health, neurodiversity and a long-term health condition have strongly shaped how I work as a therapist. I strongly believe therapy should be based off strong human connection, rather than feel clinical and uncomfortable, and a therapist should always aim to adapt themselves to best benefit their clients.
I have been married for the last 8 years, and I am father to 2 girls born in 2021 and 2026. My eldest is diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and has a Pathological Demand Avoidant profile. This has given me a unique insight to the struggles of being a neurodivergent parent to a neurodivergent daughter. I do my best to take life as it comes, and heavily rely on my sense of humour to get me through difficult days, so this often comes across where appropriate in therapy too!
I am also a huge dog lover and currently have a 1 year-old British Bulldog called Lando (after Star Wars and F1 driver). Previously we had a rescue Frenchie who lived to the ripe age of 12 and I would 100% consider as my first-born!

Hobbies
In the small windows when the children are asleep, I enjoy watching films/series with my wife while we exchange comical tiktoks from across the sofa, watching football or thinking about going back to the gym...
